The Westminster Foundation for Democracy (WFD) is an independent political foundation sponsored by the UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office. It specialises in parliamentary strengthening and political party development.

WFD is looking for a Programme Administrative and Finance Assistant (PAFA). The main purpose of this job is to assist the Programme Manager in Serbia with implementing the Parliamentary Strengthening Programme that WFD is delivering with the support of the FCO.

This role is responsible for the accurate, efficient and timely management of financial and administrative procedures and for ensuring excellent communication on, and co-ordination of, these requirements with stakeholders. The PAFA also assists the Programme Manager to coordinate logistics and provides general administrative support and office management as needed.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience in financial administration including management of cash flows, procurement, reconciling, monitoring and reporting on expenditure
  • A first degree or similar in a relevant discipline
  • At least one year of experience in a similar role
  • Experience in using accounting packages as well as Excel, Word, Outlook, databases
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills

The successful candidate will be flexible and prepared to contribute to the wider development of the work of WFD. The appointment will be made on merit on the basis of fair and open competition.

It is intended that, as part of the familiarisation with WFD, the successful appointee will spend a week in London at the beginning of the appointment. After induction in London the successful appointee will be expected to work in WFD office in Belgrade, with occasional visits to Parliament for logistics and administrative support.
