Are you a young artist or cultural operator living in one of the European Neighbourhood countries (*)? If so, here is your opportunity to win a trip to ECF’s Imagining Europe event, next 5 and 6 October in Amsterdam.

Europeans are questioning what it means to be part of Europe and whether they want to continue to be part of it, while people around the world are talking about Europe’s economic and cultural future. Imagining Europe is an event that will bring together leading artists and thinkers from diverse disciplines and backgrounds to explore these issues, through music, performance, film, exhibitions and debates.

The STEP Beyond travel grants team is launching this special competition to make sure that a select group of next generation cultural professionals from the neighbourhood countries can attend this important event. You will have the opportunity to see performances, meet with your peers from all over Europe, and be submerged in the overall festival buzz.

So if you are up to 35 years old or in the first 10 years of your professional career, and living in one of the countries listed below, all you need to do is go to this application form and tell us how you imagine Europe. The 5 most original contributions will win travel, 2 nights of accommodation and free entrance to performances such as Belarus Free Theatre or musicians Kinan Azmeh & Eric Vloeimans.

Please send your application, along with your CV, to the STEP Beyond grants team at stepbeyond[@]culturalfoundation.eu by 11 September 2012, 17:00 CET. Incomplete applications, or applications submitted after the deadline, will not be considered.

(*) Applicants should be living in one of the following countries: Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Macedonia (FYROM), Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Palestinian Territories, Russian Federation, Serbia, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey and Ukraine.
