10th International Youth Conference “European Values for the Future of the Southeastern European Countries”

sample-21This year the International Youth Conference acknowledges the young people in SEE as one of the main creative and productive forces of the region, whose ideals and aspirations underpin the development of the region as a prosperous, democratic and stable region in the framework of the EU union. Within this context, fifty-five (55) active young people from 15 countries will focus on promoting the European values as common values of young people in SEE. The conference will take place in Krusevo from 21st to 25th of September 2012.

The International Youth Conference will serve as a forum for discussions and reflections of the role of the youth in achieving the EU values in their societies in SEE and developing recommendations and proposals for further youth actions for promotion of EU values among young people in Europe and particularly in SEE. Viewing the EU values with a youth approach is essential not only for their development as multipliers of EU values but also for ensuring that efforts are long lasting and progressive in the long term. The International Youth Conference 2012 is about meeting people, finding solutions, communicating outcomes, making an impact and networking.

European Values. Cooperation. Future Actions

The European Union is founded on the values of respect for human dignity, liberty, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human. They are common to all Member States, and any European country wishing to become a member of the Union must respect them.
The main aim of the International Youth Conference is contribution of young people not just in EU integration of the region but also in the change in the system of values, in Europeanization of the region and making SEE a real component of Europe, as a system of values.
How young people can contribute in the process of promotion of the European values:

  1. What should be the right way to establish a dialogue? – Building a culture of dialogue & Living together as equals in dignity
  2. Is it anyhow possible to shape policy jointly? → Through learning processes and exchage of best practices
  3. We are all different and that we can learn it, we can correct mistakes, we have to accept that we make mistakes.
  4. First I need to have a vision and then I come to the goal. Plan and do not let life surprise you with something unexpected.
  5. Do not be alone, be better organized and place your all ideas in a platform. Do not act alone regardless of the challenges in front of you.
  6. If you are not equal, the love will not be equal as well! Being treated equally with others is our basic human right.
  7. What is Europe for young people? A set of values, norms, beliefs, customs …. Set that connects people
