ikona_edukacija.gifEuropean Citizenship Training Courses, October to February, various locations .Application deadline: 15 July 2007 .Training course on European Citizenship aimed at supporting the professional development of youth workers and youth leaders by extending their understanding of European Citizenship.

Since 2001, the Partnership Programme between the European Commission and the Council of Europe in the field of youth developed and implemented training modules on European Citizenship. The Partnership Programme secretariat and the SALTO Training and Co-operation RC started to co-operate in 2006 on developing and implementing an NA Network Training Course on European Citizenship for the Youth in Action Programme.

Between September 2007 and March 2008, following 6 courses will be offered. The application procedure and deadlines are different for participants coming from YiA Programme countries and those coming from the regions of South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

EC TC-UK in United Kingdom (15-21 October 2007), including ca. 20 participants from United Kingdom, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Romania, and ca. 8 participants from the YiA neighbouring partner country regions South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

EC TC-TR in Turkey (29 October – 4 November 2007), including ca. 20 participants from Turkey, the Frensh speaking community of Belgium, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Lithuania, Romania, United Kingdom, and ca. 8 participants from the YiA neighbouring partner country regions South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

EC TC-DK in Denmark in co-operation with Liechtenstein (12-18 November 2007), including ca. 20 participants from Denmark, Liechtenstein, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Portugal, and ca. 8 participants from the YiA neighbouring partner country regions South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

EC TC-HU in Hungary (26 November – 2 December 2007), including ca. 20 participants from Hungary, the Flemsih speaking community of Belgium, Finland, Germany, Lithuania, Malta, Romania, Sweden, and ca. 8 participants from the YiA neighbouring partner country regions South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

EC TC-PL in Poland (28 January – 3 February 2008), including ca. 20 participants from Poland, Germany, Hungary, Latvia, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovakia, United Kingdom, and ca. 8 participants from the YiA neighbouring partner country regions South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

EC TC-IT in Italy (4-10 February 2008), including ca. 20 participants from Italy, Cyprus, Estonia, Germany, Hungary, Romania, Turkey, United Kingdom, and ca. 8 participants from the YiA neighbouring partner country regions South East Europe and Eastern Europe and Caucasus.

The course is intended to address individuals working with young people in a professional capacity on a paid or voluntary basis (e.g. youth workers, youth leaders, community and social workers, teachers), who:
– have experience in directly developing and managing a project with and for young people;
– have organised or co-organised at least one youth project with a European dimension;
– are committed and motivated to work directly with young people on issues related to European Citizenship;
– are supported by their organisation in their current and future work;
– have a general knowledge and understanding of youth and youth work realities in their contexts;
– are motivated to undergo training and able to attend the course for its full duration;
– are able to work in English; and
– are resident in a Member State of the Council of Europe or in another country signatory to the ECC.
