Training of Trainers, “The role of men in gender equal Europe”

logo working with boys OVATraining of trainers will be organized in Serbia and it will gather 24 educators and youth workers from participating countries. Participants will explore gender issues and, together with experts, create manual which they will use later in their work. Training will explore the ways and methods of working with boys on this theme and will give the participants skills and knowledge in this field. Working language of the training is English.
 
One part of the training will be dedicated to the methodology and manual itself, while second part on creating strategies for the local training sessions that will be delivered in each country. Training will be based on non-formal education and will involve participatory methodologies such as: group work, discussions in plenum, brainstorming, role plays, body and community mapping, reflection etc. Training will results with manual and pool of trainers that will work with youth on local level.
 
After the training participants will deliver the workshops in their local communities. These workshops will be organized by partner organizations and led by this newly trained trainers in each involved country. Workshops will be based on non formal education and they will ensure active participation with the aim to teach youth about gender and gender based violence. In addition to this, during and after these workshops, involved young people will redefine their attitudes towards more gender equal behavior. Also, these workshops will empower them to positively influence their peers and in that way contribute to gender equality and prevention of gender based violence. Plan is to deliver 3 workshops in each community.
 
Accommodation and food for participants will be provided by organizers and travel costs will be reimbursed.
